Yakima Roof Basket Review - 2013 Volkswagen Jetta- Video
Andy: Hello everyone. Andy here with etrailer. And today we're going to go over the Yakima Off-grid Roof Cargo Basket on our 2013 Volkswagen Jetta. Having a smaller vehicle such as a Jetta, whether you have extra cargo or you have passengers and cargo, you need an option between a roof basket or a cargo box to have on top of your vehicle. Here with the roof basket, you have the option to put that cargo, whether you're going on a long trip, camping trip, road trip, and you have some luggage or other types of items, this is going to be a lot easier to use other than a cargo box sitting on top. It's much easier to get everything in and out and load it up quick and unloaded quickly as well.One thing that you want to check when it comes to how much weight and load that this basket can really hold is going to be based on not only your vehicle's specifications on what they require, but also the load that the bars that you're going to be mounting it on it that can hold as well. more

etrailer Medium Roof Cargo Basket Review - 2013 Volkswagen Jetta- Video
Andy: Hello everyone, Andy with etrailer, and today we're going to look at the etrailer medium-sized cargo basket on our 2013 Volkswagen Jetta.One of the main reasons to have a cargo basket mounted to the roof of your vehicle, this vehicle, the Jetta, being a little bit on the smaller side, you're going to need more space for passengers or for extra cargo as well. So having the option to have it roof-mounted is one way to go.This specific basket allows up to 165 pounds to be loaded into it. Just to keep in mind, this basket alone, just itself, is going to weigh almost 30 pounds, so you need to make sure that the weight capacity that your bars can handle doesn't exceed those two. These bars specifically can hold up to 220 pounds, so we've got a little bit of room to work with.One thing we want to keep in mind is the clearance that we have from the bars to the top of the roof basket. Right now, we have anywhere between 8 and 8 1/2 inches at its peak point.One thing with this specific cargo basket, we have multiple tie-down points in order to keep that cargo that's going to be loaded secure. It is made out of steel, very, very durable, and it's also powder-coated in black, and that's going to keep it corrosive resistant, whenever you're driving in the elements or whenever you're loading things that might happen to nick it, scratch it. more

Rhino Rack Roof Basket Review - 2016 Volkswagen Jetta- Video
Today on our 2016 Volkswagen Jetta we're taking a look at the Rhino Rack Roofmounted Cargo Basket. That part number is RMCB. This is 47 inches long by 35 inches wide and has a weight capacity of 165 pounds. You do want to check your vehicles owner's manual to make sure your vehicle can withstand that much weight, but as far as the basket it can withstand 165 pounds. We already have three of our four clamps secured down. We've got part of our back secured down, we're going to show you how to secure the rest of it. We'll move around to the backhand side. more

Today on our 2016 Volkswagen Jetta, we're doing a test fit of the Thule Canyon XT roof-mounted cargo basket. This is 49 by 40 by 6 inches, has a weight capacity of 150 pounds and the part number for that is TH859XT. Now, keep in mind, with that weight capacity, you do want to check your vehicle's owners manual to make sure that the vehicle can withstand that much weight. We already have three of our four mounts down in place. We've got both of our front ones and our back passenger's side. We're going to show you our driver's side now. We've gone ahead and adjusted each of our plates here, or our brackets. more

Today on our 2013 Volkswage Jetta, we're doing a test fit of the Thule Canyon roof cargo basket. It is 49 by 40 by 6. Has a weight capacity of 150 pounds and the part number with that is TH859. Now, with that weight capacity, I would check your owner's manual to make sure your vehicle can withstand that much weight. We already have three of our four brackets down and secure. Yakima LoadWarrior Roof Cargo Basket Review - 2013 Volkswagen Jetta- Video
Today on our 2013 Volkswagen Jetta, we will be testing the Yakima Load Warrior, roof-rack cargo basket, part #Y07070. To begin our test fit, we will place our cargo basket directly on our load bars, being sure to center it with our vehicle. Here, we will bring our clamp around our bars, dropping the T-bolt through it, lining it up with the appropriate slot, and then secure it using the 2 black wingnuts. We will move around the vehicle to the other 3 clamps and repeat that same tightening process. With all 4 clamps secure, our cargo basket is ready to go. That will complete today's test fit of the Yakima Load Warrior roof-rack cargo basket, part #Y07070, on our 2013 Volkswagen Jetta. . more

Yakima LoadWarrior Roof Cargo Basket Review - 2012 Volkswagen Jetta- Video
Today with our 2012 Volkswagen Jetta were going to be test fitting the Yakima Load Warrior Roof Mounted Cargo Basket, part number Y07070. We already have our basket put together and now were ready to fit it up on top of our vehicle. First well take the basket and lay it up on top of our crossbars. Then well position it and make sure its even from left to right. Once weve done that we can we swing our hardware around and use the included T bolt and wing nut to tighten the clamps to our crossbars. With the clams tight, were ready to load our basket and hit the road. more

Yakima LoadWarrior Roof Cargo Basket Review - 2011 Volkswagen Jetta- Video
Alright, today, on this 2011 Volkswagen Jetta were going to do a test fit of part #: y07070 from Yakima, the Load Warrior roof cargo basket. Okay, now our Jetta has already been equipped with a roof rack system with elliptical bars and as for a reference point our centers of the bars are going to be 27 and 9/16. Okay, were going to start off our test fit with the basket already assembled. We just got to place it on the roof rack, get it centered the way we wand and then we can go ahead and install the hardware. Once we get it roughly into position, well go ahead and loosely install the hardware and then make some final adjustments. And thats what it takes to install the basket on a roof rack. more
